Here are some clever ways you can experiment with to increase your customer database gradually.

SEO tops the charts when we talk about ways and techniques to get more hits. This is fast becoming one of the essentials for attracting prospective clients to your webpage. Develop internal WebPages focused on each of your target keywords. Your page title should be keyword rich. Try to do away with the filler words to the extent possible and focus on keyword prominence. SEO makes it easier for the search engines like Bing or Google to locate your website and place it in front of your prospective buyers.

Blogging is not all about writing; it is also about staying connected. Good advice, Margaret. ECommerce is one of those things that has become a little fuzzy in the modern age. We're all selling something - even if it's just ideology, and the promotional suggestions you provide hold true for everyone. Of course most people who visit this blog will be specifically selling books, which is clearly a type of ecommerce, and of course it's all about providing good content and attracting and engaging an audience.

Mary Jo, I'm not familiar with PPC or Pay to See. I do know with PPC you have to pay for each click - if you make enough from those clicks to warrant the expense, that's great. When I have extra money to play with I'll test it out.

One of the 'unprofessional' things I've noticed with freelance guest bloggers is they don't stop by to respond to comments.

Hi Karen, thanks for this article, did you try maybe to promote your website and get visitors by using some profitable phrases/keywords on your website (title, headlines, content). By using good niche keywords you can position your page in the first results of Google and get many new visitors. There are even some tools which help to find such keywords like Metrics11
