Don't Worry About Failures

“Don’t worry about failures; worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.”

Jack Canfield had a dream. He and co-author Mark Victor Hansen, both motivational speakers, compiled true inspirational stories from people in their audiences. They put these stories into a manuscript titled Chicken Soup for the Soul and submitted it to publishers.

They were rejected 144 times before a small publisher gave them a contract.
Imagine if they stopped after 10, 40, 80, 120, or 140 rejections.

Imagine if they let their failures dictate their lives.

They knew the true failure would be not to keep trying.

Even after they got a publishing contract, they marketed, marketed, and marketed. They not only didn’t let failure stop them, but they also actively made their dream come true.

So, whether you’re a writer, an author, a marketer, or other, take action steps, even if they’re small ones… and persevere.

Karen,

There are volumes of wisdom in this statement from Jack Canfield. Another one that I've often heard is: It won't fly if you don't try.." As writers, we have to try many things (and fail) before we find what will work for us. If there were a proven formula to sell books, then every book would be a bestsleller (which does noit happen). Thank you for this important article.

Terry, I love that Canfield quote and am a firm believer that you never know what's around the corner. Ha, I never heard the "it won't fly if you don't try." Another good ! It's about perseverance.
